The Pearl Hotel // San Diego, CA
A 23 room mid century gem on the busy stretch of Rosecrans Avenue in Point Loma, San Diego. An oyster shaped pool in the center with 2 exterior corridor floors of guest rooms surrounding it, and an indoor/outdoor restaurant + bar. The Pearl Hotel had been rebranded a few years prior to Casetta’s involvement. With an already loyal local community, the mission was to refresh the brand and give The Pearl a lift in design and service. Never forgetting that The Pearl is a classic roadside motel, Casetta leaned into the legacy of the original owners, Charles and Dinorah, but refreshed the look, feel and guest experience. In partnership with Human Kind Design for guest rooms and Electric Bowery for public spaces, Casetta updated all finishes and furnishings. Working with local artists and makers, and drawing inspiration from the building itself; its beautiful rock walls and location by the fisherman’s wharf, the rooms and public spaces were given a beachy coastal look with a color palette that draws from the inherent details of the property.
In addition, a refresh of the art program, collateral, brand voice, uniforms, guest experience and staff training gave the property new life.
