Hotel Willa // Taos, NM

Coming soon...

Located at the gateway to the historic district of Taos, Hotel Willa was formerly named Indian Hills Inn.  The property had been run-down motel for years and was considered an eye-sore at the entry to a beautiful town.  Casetta saw the potential of this property, with views overlooking the Couse pasture, walking distance to bars and restaurants and a drive up to the ski slopes, and ample outdoor event space.  In 2024 Hotel Willa will open with 51 fully renovated guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, adjacent Adobe House suites, Artist in Residency program and gallery. The grounds include firepits, an edible garden, a cold plunge and pool.

In the development stages, Casetta focused on community building and local partnerships.  All art for guestrooms and public spaces was created by local artists. Starting with a property that had a bad-rep meant starting from scratch with identity. A Bob Dylan quote inspired us “You call yourself what you want to call yourself.”   We maintained the bones of all of the buildings - constructed between the 1960s and 1990s - but gutted them to make room for an entirely new look and feel. Keeping to a Southwest color palette and materials : dusty stucco colors, wood beams, handmade ceramics, concrete countertops, to create a more contemporary offering than other hotels in town.  A bar complete with fireplace and outdoor patio seating opens up to the main lobby and reception.  Adding amenities such as a minibar available by QR code and texting with the Front Desk, allows for ease of use and a guest experience that you can make your own.
